Ten Ten Ten Terms of Service

Welcome to tententen.org (the “Site”). The Site and related services, including the pledge, donations, volunteer and partner/certification inquiries, newsletters, and any other tools or content we provide (together, the “Services”) are operated by Ten Ten Ten, a U.S. nonprofit organization (“Ten Ten Ten,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

01. Eligibility & accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services.
  • If you create an account (now or in the future), keep your credentials confidential and promptly notify us of any unauthorized use. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.

02. Acceptable use

You agree not to :
  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services; introduce malware, scraping, or excessive load.
  • Attempt to bypass security or access non-public areas.
  • Post or transmit content that is unlawful, misleading, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation, including when signing the pledge or submitting materials for certification/partnership.
  • Use any data from the Services for unsolicited marketing, spam, or commercial list building without our written consent.
  • We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.

03. Pledge wall & public recognition

  • If you sign the Ten Ten Ten Pledge, we may display your name, organization, title, and city/state on a public “Pledge Wall” or similar page
  • You (or your organization) may request edits or removal by emailing privacy@tententen.org
  • We’ll process requests within a reasonable time.

04. Donations & refunds

  • Donations are processed by third-party payment processors. We don’t store full payment card details.
  • Donations are generally nonrefundable. If you made an error, contact donors@tententen.org within 30 days and we’ll review in good faith.
  • Ten Ten Ten is a U.S. nonprofit; tax-deductibility depends on your circumstances and current IRS status. We do not provide legal or tax advice.

05. Programs: certification, partnership, badges

  • We may offer Certification or Partnership programs with additional guidelines, criteria, and fees. If you apply or participate, you agree to follow the program-specific terms we provide.
  • Where we issue badges (e.g., “Pledge Signatory,” “Certified,” or “Partner”), you may display them as provided (unaltered) with a link to tententen.org. We may update or revoke badges that are outdated, misleading, or used in violation of these Terms or program rules.

06. Intellectual property

  • The Services, including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, videos, and software, are owned by or licensed to Ten Ten Ten and are protected by intellectual-property laws.
  • You may access and use the Services for noncommercial, mission-aligned purposes. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, distribute, perform, display, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission.
  • Feedback: If you send ideas or suggestions, you grant Ten Ten Ten a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them without restrictions or attribution.
  • Trademarks: Ten Ten Ten names, logos, and marks may not be used without our prior written consent.

07. User content

  • You retain ownership of content you submit (e.g., testimonials, forms, application materials), but grant Ten Ten Ten a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute such content to operate, improve, and promote the Services and our mission.
  • You represent that you have the rights necessary to grant this license and that your content does not violate any law or third-party rights.

08. Medical, legal, and financial disclaimers

  • No medical advice. Content on the Services is for educational and advocacy purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
  • No legal or financial advice. Content is not a substitute for advice from qualified professionals.
  • Decisions based on the Services are your responsibility.

09. Third-party services & links

  • The Services may link to third-party websites or integrate third-party tools (e.g., payment processors, email providers, analytics). We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms and privacy policies.

10. Privacy

  • Your use of the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share information. Please review it carefully.

11. DMCA / copyright complaints

  • We respect intellectual-property rights. If you believe content on the Services infringes your copyright, send a notice to our DMCA agent:

Your notice must include :
  • Your contact info;
  • Identification of the copyrighted work;

12. Disclaimer of warranties

  • THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TEN TEN TEN AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AND AGENTS DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

13. Limitation of liability

  • TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TEN TEN TEN AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED $100.

    Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, the limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted.

14. Indemnification

  • You agree to indemnify and hold Ten Ten Ten and its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:
    (a) your use or misuse of the Services;
    (b) your violation of these Terms; or
    (c) your violation of any law or third-party rights.

15. Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, the sections that by their nature should survive will survive (e.g., IP, disclaimers, limitations, indemnification, governing law).

16. Changes to the services or terms

  • We may modify or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. We may update these Terms occasionally; when we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where required, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing law; dispute resolution

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Insert State], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
  • Venue : You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania for any dispute not subject to arbitration (if arbitration is not used).

18. International use

  • If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you do so at your own risk and are responsible for compliance with local laws. We may process and store information in the U.S. and other countries.
